The House

The Birdcage on Moreton has five large bedrooms, three queen rooms, a king-singles room and a bunk room with a double bed and three large bunks. All beds have good quality innerspring mattresses and allergy-free pillows with covers. Doonas are provided to all beds. Two large couches and two fold-up cushion beds provide extra sleeping accommodation for which no bedding is supplied. The Birdcage on Moreton can accommodate up to 10 people comfortably.

The Birdcage has an expansive living / dining area with two 3 seater and two single seater lounges. Quality inclusions include a large LCD television, DVD player and stereo system. A large 10 seater dining table fills out the dining area.

There are two bathrooms, with baths, and three separate toilets in the house and an outdoor shower room with hot water connection. There is a fully equipped laundry but, of course, given the energy demands, no electric clothes dryer.

The Birdcage on Moreton has a large modern kitchen with quality appliances and granite and stainless steel bench tops. There is a dishwasher and microwave as well as a gas cook top and wall oven/griller. All crockery, cutlery and cookware are provided. There is a large fridge and an equally large freezer suitable for a house full of people.

The fully screened deck forms an important part of the house design by enhancing natural air flows, cooling the house in summer and trapping huge amounts of natural solar heating in winter. With full length seating, comfortable outdoor timber furniture and a modern BBQ, the deck is the central activity, entertainment and relaxation area of the house.
