The Birdcage on Moreton, situated in the small settlement of Cowan Cowan on Moreton Island, Queensland, was built in late 2005 as a group project by friends and has been architecturally planned from an award-winning design, specifically for comfortable living in a sub tropical environment on a sand island.

The Birdcage uses the latest in sustainable and self sufficient technologies to be totally independent from any public utilities (other than phone) ensuring that any impact on the local ecology is kept to an absolute minimum.

Boasting 5 large bedrooms with sleeping accommodation for up to ten people, the Birdcage features spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, a quality fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets and an outdoor hot water shower.

The philosophy behind the Birdcage is a simple one, to provide quality, affordable and sustainable accommodation to allow friends and family to gather in a spacious and relaxing environment.
